Our Haas CNC machining centers offer CNC machining services for various materials, including aluminum and stainless steel machining. We provide precision milling on our high-speed milling machines and turning on our Citizen Swiss screw machines. We perform all services in-house from our 30,000-square-foot, climate-controlled facility.
Precision Machining Specialties
Ardel Engineering specializes in small to medium-sized parts, which we produce in many different quantities. We have dedicated areas for manufacturing single-piece prototypes, assembly fixtures, and short-run production runs. Our volume production area can handle production runs of at least 30,000 pieces.
Whether your order contains one or many components, or requires special processing or assembly, Ardel Engineering is your go-to precision CNC machining manufacturer. We can take your project from concept to production. In our more than 40 years in operation, Ardel Engineering’s CNC vertical mills and CNC turning centers have manufactured and delivered millions of parts to the military, aerospace, commercial, and computer industries.
Precision Machining Capabilities
Ardel Engineering offers a variety of other machining services to cover the complete part production process. Our production line has state-of-the-art machinery that handles conventional milling, sawing, drilling, turning, deburring, and part making.
We also offer services such as welding, heat treating, plating, and painting through our approved, certified vendors. Once your part is complete, Ardel follows through with complete inspection, assembly, and customized packaging.

Precision CNC Machining
Ardel Engineering uses vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers to manufacture precision parts from various plastics, ceramics, metals, and composite materials, including:
- UHMW
- Aluminum
- Delrin®
- Stainless steel
- Steel
- Brass
Unlike other machine shops that utilize just one type of milling center, Ardel Engineering recognizes the advantages of using both horizontal and vertical milling centers. The optimal choice for your project highly depends on the machined features, volume, and shape of the part. Using both types of milling centers increases our versatility and efficiency to a level not achievable with only one mill type.

Swiss Screw Machining
Swiss screw machining is among our core service offerings. We offer this machining service for small-diameter parts in medium to high volumes. Swiss screw machining offers several benefits over other machining and manufacturing processes, including:
- A wider range of cutting tools
- A lower level of deflection
- Greater design versatility
- Broader material suitability
- Higher level of control
- High production efficiency
-
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM)
Wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) is an electrothermal process of eroding material using an electrically charged wire. This process is suitable for machining conductive materials, especially high-strength alloys like tool steels, Monel, and Hastelloy™ because it preserves the original properties of the material. Using traditional milling methods to machine these materials can be difficult since they can cause rapid wear of cutting tools and work hardening during machining.
Wire EDM allows us to hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0001” on parts up to 10” in width, 12” in length, and 8” in height. In fact, wire EDM’s ability to create fine part features in hardened alloys makes it an ideal choice to machine inspection gauges, fixtures, and other profile work. These types of machining projects are usually low-volume, high-precision, and reliant on hardened materials.
At Ardel Engineering, we use our EDM machinery to create extrusion prototypes for customers to test before investing in hard tooling, which saves them from costly engineering changes and production delays. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification means we are committed to delivering the best quality machined parts to the aerospace, and commercial manufacturing industries.
Our typical lead time for prototypes is 2-3 weeks, while production takes 4-6 weeks. If needed, we can expedite rush orders to prevent expensive downtime.

Inspection Services
Ardel Engineering deploys various product validation methods to verify linear tolerances, sophisticated Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T), and more. We utilize statistical process control (SPC) to ensure our machining processes yield components that meet or exceed client requirements. We establish in-process inspection rates that adhere to our clients’ Acceptable Quality Level (AQL).
Our climate-controlled laboratory is calibrated to NIST-traceable standards and houses all our inspection equipment per our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management program. Our inspection equipment includes vision systems, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), an optical comparator, a profilometer, and more. View the full list on our inspection services page.
Value Added Services
One of our value added service offerings is anodizing per MIL-A-8625 standards for paint adhesion, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance in military and aerospace products. Ardel also provides MIL-DTL-5541 chemical filming for optimal corrosion resistance and protection where low electrical resistance is required.
We use authorized vendors to provide:
- Electroplating
- Passivation
- Heat treating
- Drilling
- Tapping
